We have been through many analytics solutions, including Google Analytics and Sitemeter. While we found GA to be a great, free solution, it didn’t meet all our needs. Sitemeter produced detailed reports, with a clear idea of who is visiting your domain, but we needed something more customizable and powerful. This is when we were introduced to Piwik, an open source analytics solution for all webmasters. You don’t need to be an Internet genius to understand the functions of this wonderful program. We put emphasis on ease of installation, user and developer community as well as plugins…and found Piwik had all of these and even more. At first our team was hesitant to uninstall GA, but Piwik made the decision easy because of the breadth of features and support from the developing team. We had initial questions and were responded to immediately with clear answers.
