Overview of Clinical Medical Assistant:

The clinical medical assistant works with patients and doctors by administering care services. This is different than being a physician’s assistant, however, because they do not actually diagnose patients.

A few of the responsibilities that clinical medical assistants have:

-Schedule procedures

-Draw blood

-Record medical histories

-Take patient readings like blood pressure

-Dress wounds

-Collect lab data

Where Do They Work?

These medical assistants work in hospitals, facilities, individual practices and clinics. For those who wish to have as many medical responsibilities and working with patients, then you should apply to work in a large hospital. Other job positions include more administrative tasks like phone answering and front desk operations.
